Ston is the main town of the county which is located on the Peljesac peninsula. The town of Ston has the second largest wall surrounding it – this defense wall dates back to 14th Century, it is 5.5 km long and it is also the longest remaining fortification system in the world afther the Chinese Wall.
Ston also has the oldest salt pans in the Europe located on the sea.
Ston is famous for it’s oysters, coming from it’s own breeding site.
